Dr. Markus Schick studied electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart where he received his diploma in 1998. He then was working as a researcher at the Institute of Radio Frequency Technology specialising in numerical methods for electromagnetic simulation, optimisation methods and Electromagnetic Compatibility and received his PhD in 2004. Afterwards Dr. Schick started working for EM Software & Systems GmbH as sales and project management engineer and became managing director in 2009. In 2014 EMSS merged with Altair Engineering where he is today “Director for Electromagnetic Solutions” being responsible for the Electromagnetic business (Software and Services) of Altair in EMEA.

Dr. Pietro Cervellera, SVP EMEA, has been with Altair since 2002 covering several technical, commercial, and management roles. Since 2018, he has been managing Altair business in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. His prior experience includes working at Daimler and Fairchild Dornier in different roles dealing with simulation and optimization. Dr. Cervellera has a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Università di Padova.

Kobi Ingram is an electrical machine designer working at Gevasol group for Bental motion systems since 2009, Ingram focus is on dc brushless motors and electromagnetic brakes build to spec designs, in addition he leads the electromagnetic simulation and analysis group. Ingram received the B.sc. (Eng.) degree in electronics and electrical engineering from The Kinneret College on the sea of galilee, Israel (2009). Before, practical electrical engineer (1993), IT system administrator (1999).

Ahmadreza JAFARI received his PhD degree from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie (UPMC) in Paris, in 2015. His research activities focused on millimeter wave communication and localization. After his thesis, he joined Renault multimedia service at RENAULT techno-center as radio reception specialist in the same year. On November 2017, he joined EMC/RF team at RENAULT and he is currently lead RF research engineer. His main activities include RF simulations regarding antenna applications such as keyless entry and ignition, AM/FM/DAB radio, cellular (3G, 4G, 5G), etc.

Philippe BOUTIER received the Master’s degree in telecommunication from the university of VILLE d’AVRAY in 2000 through an internship from 1998 to 2000 at the SATIMO headquarter in LES ULIS, where he worked on the first near field to far field Stargate Antenna measurement facility. He completed the MS degree in electrical engineering and high frequencies from the university of Paris Sud in 2001. From 2001 to 2006, he served as a consulting engineer for Alcatel Mobile Phones in the antenna and propagation group, where he was involved in antenna design, validation and SAR measurement. In 2006, He joined the EMC and RF group of RENAULT car manufacturer, GUYANCOURT, FRANCE, where he worked on various RF projects on multimedia, connectivity and Intelligent transport system as SCORE@F and SCOOP@F. He works currently as RF central technical leader for RENAULT group.

Born in Caltanissetta, in the hearth of Sicily, he attended the local Scientific High School reaching the Diploma with excellent results. Always been passionate about Mathematics and Physics, he decided to undertake the University course in Electrical Engineering near University of Palermo, obtaining the Bachelor’s Degree title with full marks. Then, he decided to move to the North of Italy to complete his studies, attending the Master Degree in Electrical Engineering near the University of Padua, specializing on Electrical Machines design and analysis. Following his passione on Electrical Machines, he always worked in Italian companies which are manufacturer and designer of e-motors. He is currently employeed as R&D Electrical Engineer near Sicor S.p.A. and he is in dealing with R&D activities on induction motors, gearless synchronous motors and brakes for hoisting machines.

Arnaud Cariou graduated from the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electrotechnique, d’Electronique, d’Hydraulique et d’Informatique de Toulouse” (ENSEEIHT – France) in Electrical Engineering in 2016. He worked as research engineer for Zodiac Aerospace, then for IRT Saint-Exupery. Magnus Gustavsson received the M.Sc. degree in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering in 2004 from Linköping University, Sweden. In 2015 he received a Tekn.lic in theoretical electromagnetic engineering from Department of Electrical and Information Technology, Lund University, Sweden.

Patrick Lombard is running the Flux and FluxMotor Specialist team for Altair. Having started to work in 1989, as developer of Flux 2D for introducing the circuit coupling to magnetic equation (for his PhD in 1992 from Institut National Polytechnic of Grenoble, France), he has worked on many functionalities to ease the modeling of electrotechnical devices. His field of line includes modeling motors, transformers, actuators, induction heating, … In 2000, he takes the lead of support and valorization team in order to help users get the most of Cedrat’s tools and now Altair’s tool. Current applications of interest include hysteresis, multi-physics and optimization especially for electrical motors.
Senior Director, Global BizDev - EM Solutions, Altair
Vincent LECONTE is directing the business development of Altair’s electromechanical simulation solutions. He graduated and had his Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble in France, specializing in electromagnetic modelling methods and numerical analysis. He joined Schneider Electric where he spent about 10 years, first designing innovative electromechanical components, and then being responsible for electromagnetic simulation methods and tools, at the corporate level. Before joining Altair, he was CEDRAT’s Chief Technical Officer for 7 years, guiding the evolution of Flux software
After PHD studies and seven years of antenna design and integration for automotive radars, Eddy JEHAMY joined Aeronautical company to work on antenna placement and integration on several helicopter classes. Civil and military aircrafts, require more than 20 antennas linked to the several communication and navigation systems. He worked on complete scenarios to meet the latest aeronautical standards and to avoid severe interferences between the different systems. He also patents a new idea to adapt the radar altimeter to complex integration scenario on helicopters (Publication number: 20160097848). Then he worked on weather and tactical radar integration behind radome structures, before he joined ALTAIR company as FEKO application engineer. His current research interests are in developing fast and useful process for antenna placement and integration for several applications.
Ulrich Jakobus graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He completed his PhD and Habilitation and became Privatdozent at the same university. His areas of research included numerical techniques in electromagnetics, antennas, electromagnetic compatibility, and bio-electromagnetics, laying the foundations for the electromagnetics code Feko in 1991.
Since 2000 Dr. Jakobus has been Director of EM Software & Systems in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and in 2002 he also founded EM Software & Systems GmbH in Böblingen, Germany, focusing on the development and commercialisation of Feko. In 2014 he joined Altair through an acquisition of the EMSS Group of companies, and since then Dr. Jakobus is acting as Senior Vice President – Electromagnetic Solutions, overseeing all the electromagnetic and EDA product developments at Altair.
Dr. Jakobus has published extensively on computational electromagnetics and related topics. He received several awards for his research and leadership.
Dr. Jakobus is a member of URSI commission B, the German VDE/ITG, Fellow of IEEE, and Fellow of ACES, the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society.
Dr.Reiner Hoppe received his Dipl.-Ing. degree and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1997 and 2002, respectively, both from the University of Stuttgart. After the graduation he moved to AWE Communications, where he was working on variousprojects in the field of wave propagation modelling and radio network planning, contributing to the development of the WinProp software. Since 2015 he is with Altair Engineering, nowadaysresponsible for the developmentof the software tools in the wireless domain including WinProp and WRAP. Dr. Hoppe has presented a large number of papers about ray-optical wave propagation modelling and related topics on wireless communication conferences. He made also some contributions to scientific journals andbstr books including a chapter about “Propagation Models for Indoor Communications” in the Wiley Encyclopedia of Telecommunications.
